The Evergreen community consists of Evergreen users, developers, support personnel, contributors, and other interested parties. All are welcome! Below are some of the ways you can connect with us.
Discussion Lists
In the interest of transparency everything on the mailing lists is public, logged, and archived; with the exception of the Security Mailing List. In exceptional cases, a message may be struck from the archive. Please contact the list administrator if you believe you have such a case.
Some newer lists use Google Groups. For spam prevention, these require moderator approval to join. Don’t worry, your request to join will be approved immediately!
Security Mailing List
There is one private mailing list for developers to discuss security vulnerabilities and their patches. To report a vulnerability to the Evergreen security team, please submit a bug through the Launchpad site, and then flag the it as a “private security” bug by following these steps:
- Go to https://bugs.launchpad.net/evergreen and report a bug.
- In the bug form, under the “further description box”, there’s a widget labeled “This bug contains information that is:”
- Click on it, and set the type to “Private Security”.
- Submit the bug.
General Mailing List
This is the general-topic list for the Evergreen community — Evergreen users, librarians, library workers, library users, developers, fellow travelers, or people just plain curious about Evergreen. Posts range from discussions about possible new features to quick questions about implementation. There is no such thing as a “dumb” question or comment for the Evergreen general list.
