Starting in 2023, the Evergreen community decided that the conference would be held in person and online in alternating years. The 2025 conference will be in person.

Bug Squashing Week & Feedback Fest
The Evergreen community holds quarterly Bug Squashing Weeks and Feedback Fests to bring together community members to test and provide feedback on current bug and feature requests.
There are many ways to participate, including confirming bugs, providing bug feedback (critical feedback is welcome, as long as it’s constructive!), testing and signing off on bugs, providing bug patches, merging bug patches, providing testing environments, and more.
For more information see the Bug Squashing wiki page.
Hack-a-Way
The Evergreen community hosts a yearly Hack-a-Way in the fall with the goal of getting many community developers and documenters in a room together to ‘hack’ on Evergreen.
Proposals are being accepted to host the 2024 Evergreen Hack-a-Way. Here’s what is needed:
-
A clean meeting space for 15 – 30 people.
-
Working space for laptops.
-
A TV, projector or other display.
-
Adequate bandwidth for the users.
-
A few snacks and forms of hydration and caffeine to keep blood sugar and productivity up.
-
Facilitate reasonable hotel accommodations (cheaper is better but no bed bugs).
-
Although not required it’s become tradition for the host to supply lunches.
Contact Rogan Hamby with your proposal.
Past Hack-a-Ways have been very productive at moving the Evergreen codebase forward – you can see the notes & accomplishments from previous Hack-a-Ways on the Evergreen wiki.
