K.G. Schneider gave us a good friendly poke with some constructive criticism during her keynote at the recent CODE4LIB conference. 🙂 We’ve taken her suggestions to heart and have revamped the FAQ (http://open-ils.org/faq.html).
We’ve toned down the “open source” advocacy and are trying hard to restrict any jargon to the appropriate audience. We also have a list of some Evergreen features and how they benefit those who use the software.
This might be of particular interest to those suffering from recent shakeups in the ILS industry.
As always, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. 😉

Nice job. I already saw a post on horizon-l referencing information from your new FAQ, as to Acq/Cataloging module availability. (2008? So sad.)
Hey, Johnathan. Just to clarify about cataloging, the functionality is all there with the exception of automated serials management — the automatic creation of item entries when those items are scheduled for receipt. As this is intimately tied to acquisitions, it will come with that piece.
Thanks!
What happened to the FAQ website http://open-ils.org/faq.html?
It is not there when we attempt to get to it? We are looking forward to it being up and available.
Hi Lee, sorry about that. The website had a makeover, and broke some old links into it. Should be working now, thanks!
